NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Public notice is hereby given that the City of Central City, Nebraska (the “City”) will hold a public hearing at its City Hall, 1702 31st Street, Central City, Nebraska, on September 14, 2020, commencing at 7:00 p.m., regarding the proposed issuance by the City of its revenue bond (Merrick Medical Center Project) in a principal amount of not to exceed $10,000,000 (the “Bonds”) for the benefit of Merrick Medical Center, a Nebraska nonprofit corporation (the “Borrower”).
The proceeds of the Bonds will be loaned by the City pursuant to Sections 13-1101 to 13-1110, inclusive, Reissue Revised Statutes of Nebraska, as amended (the “Act”) in furtherance of the purposes of the Act, to the Borrower to finance the costs of acquiring, constructing, equipping, and furnishing facilities for a new medical center (the “Project”). The Project will be owned and operated by Merrick Medical Center and will be located proximate to the intersection of 15th Road and 28th Street, in Central City, Nebraska.
The hearing will be open to the public. All interested persons may attend the hearing and will have an opportunity to express their views with respect to the Project and the issuance of Bonds. Written comments with respect to the Project may also be submitted to the undersigned prior to the hearing. Additional information regarding the proposed Project and the issuance of the Bonds may be obtained in advance of the hearing from the undersigned.
The bonds shall never constitute an indebtedness of the City within the meaning of any state constitutional provision or statutory limitation, shall never constitute nor give rise to a pecuniary liability of the City or a charge against its general credit or taxing powers, and no tax funds will ever be used to pay any part thereof, such Bonds and the interest thereon to be payable solely from the revenues derived by the City from repayment of the loan to the Borrower.
